What is Aware-ly

The principles applied in the study of consciousness are multilayered as well as multidisciplinary. Psychologists interpret consciousness as the theories conceived by Freud and expanded by Jung. Neuroscientists have done quantifiable studies to relate brain activities to conscious experiences. In transcendental psychology, consciousness has an esoteric meaning.

Our research and findings suggest that many cultures assimilated the theories of consciousness in their religious and spiritual beliefs.

The spiritual leaders propagated these consciousness theories as awareness into their cultures to promote metacognition. From Mayans, Incas, to eastern cultures of Hinduism, and Buddhism, have similarities in their approach towards consciousness.

The major influences at Aware-ly are two modern theorists and advocates of conscious living – Dr. David Hawkins and Mr. Michael Singer.

Michael Singer, in his New York Times bestseller- The Untethered Soul talks about the relationship between our thoughts and emotions. The book uncovers methods to explore the sources of fluxes of inner energy. It educates the methods of freeing oneself of habitual thoughts and emotions and living a life of mindfulness.

David Hawkins, in his most famous Map of Consciousness, created a spectrum of human consciousness in 17 levels giving each level a frequency. Professing that human life should be about the pursuit of attaining higher consciousness, Hawkins helps you discover the interplay of power vs. force that affects us in various endeavors.

At Aware-ly levels of consciousness have been studied at the esotericism lens, but takes a quantifiable approach for the purpose of progression toward self-actualization. Aware-ly is not a promise of reaching self-actualization but a practical guide to taking a self-approach to live a happier life. At Aware-ly each of us takes charge.

We will be using the frequency map of Dr. David Hawkins to mark our levels, and learning methods of transcending levels that do not serve us to a higher level through mindful living, meditation, and actions.

Understanding the Aware-ly Code

To understand the Aware-ly Code you will have to know the meaning of consciousness. In simple terms, consciousness means the state of being awake and aware of our surroundings. At Aware-ly this state of being awake and aware is not only at a physical/external level it is also internal- it is the awareness of the state of mind.

Awareness of music, taste, pain, heat, cold, and other such senses has a physical reaction, so we do not have to tell ourselves to feel the joy of music – we hear it, the sweetness or bitterness of taste – we have eaten it, heat/cold – our skin senses, pain/ache – we cut, burn, bruise our skin.

How about awareness of shame, guilt, grief, etc.? The consciousness of these emotions is concealed but quickly manifests into a dangerous life-view. Shame to misery, guilt to evil, grief to tragedy, and so on and so forth.

Aware-ly Code is based on recognizing the level of consciousness through habit and aware thinking on a regular basis.

Just like you take time to have your meals, meditate, or exercise, you will take the time out to note the theme of the hour, day, or month (based on how deep you want to go), and graph it on a scale. At the end of the day, week, or month you will go over the dip in the graph and note your consciousness level, the emotion it evoked, how you felt, and what was your reaction to that dip. You can track each point on the graph if you want and study your approach in each case. Again it depends on how deep you want to go and want to invest your time in this process. The Aware-ly Code can be applied as per your need or choice. The code is flexible but reliant. It does not create dependency but helps cultivate a habit of awareness. The model is based on a self-devised principle of realize, recognize, respond.

Why Another Website about Mindfulness/Consciousness/Awareness?

One has to wonder why to become an Aware-ly follower, when there are scores and scores of great websites and resources on mindfulness, raising consciousness, and awareness? But I would not sign off without reading a few posts and finding out if Aware-ly will be useful to you or not.

The advent of Aware-ly was an outcome of my personal journey.

As with most of us, life came with many good and not-so-good surprises. Like most of you, I also faced setbacks, betrayals, losses, injustice, and discrimination. After years of following a negative pattern, I finally understood how unhelpful that was. I decided to change the course of my mind.

With raising self-awareness comes the responsibility of bringing others on the same journey, not to kill the loneliness but because it is selfish not to share the treasure that you discover on your expedition. Aware-ly was started with that in mind – to have fellow travelers join the journey in raising consciousness level.
